One-stop 110,000 square-foot plant houses melt, core, metallurgy, molding and parts finishing on 5.5 acres in Ashland, Ohio
Facility Features Are:
- 3 Brown Boveri Corp. induction furnaces with the melt capacity of 100 tons/day.
Three molding lines:
- The Osborn line is a 2-RJN 722 molding machine with a Stinson mold-handling line; rated capacity of 60 molds/hour. There are eighty-five 26” + 37” cope and drag flasks.
- 2 Hunter HMP-10s with Stinson mold handling lines with a rated capacity of 120 molds/hour.
- Vanetta gas scrap preheater, with a rated capacity of 12 tons/hour.
- 2 Wheelabrators, One 22 cubic foot, One 28 cubic foot (each with skip loaders).
- Hunter HMP-20 with Stinson mold handling line with a rated capacity of 120 molds/hour.
Core making machines:
- 3 Shell core machines, Harrison model 1818 and 1016 are gas-fired. Dependable model 400SA is gas fired.
- 2 machines have 2 box shuttle systems.
- 2 Carbon Dioxide Demmler core blowers with Carbon Dioxide and oil sand capabilities.
- Core machine: 2 Reford HCB -22s- (Beta Set) and a Reford HCB -26- (Beta Set)
- Spectrometer, Baird vacuum direct reading spectrometer, nine channels for seven element readings with a 29 element reading capability.
- Nodularity Tester, American NDT, precision velocity nodularity test instrument with the rated capacity to sixteen channels.
- Modern lab complete with spectrometer to maintain both physical and chemical properties and control of castings produced.
